Instagram Now Has 400 Million Monthly Users, Up 100 Million From Earlier This Year

Social-media users love Instagram's images.

Instagram revealed today that it has 400 million monthly users, which represents a growth of 100 million users since the beginning of this year.

What's more, the Facebook-owned company said 75 percent of its audience resides outside the U.S. 

Here are a few other facts Instagram shared late Tuesday in a blog post:

  • Among the last 100 million users to join, more than half are in Europe and Asia.
  • Instagrammers are sharing more than 80 million photos per day.
  • Soccer legend David Beckham, reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner, Indonesian duo Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina, and German soccer player Toni Kroos are among the most-followed accounts.
