HopStop Skips, Jumps Toward Broader DMA Base

The three-year old HopStop.com, which provides automated rail and bus directions in urban locales such as New York and Chicago, is planning to expand its coverage from a dozen current markets to the top 20 DMAs in the U.S. by the end of this year. The New York-based company has also recently broadened into the international space, launching in London and Paris.

Besides expanding its geographical footprint, HopStop is exploring multiple content distribution deals as it looks to build a network of comprehensive local Web resources, offering users information ranging from weather conditions to restaurant and cultural listings (already, the site syndicates content from MenuPages, The New York Post, The New York Daily News, The Village Voice and Coldwell Banker).
