Cartoon Network Taps Kerns to Run Web Site

Cartoon Network has brought on a digital executive from ABC’s Daytime group to run its Web site.

Kitric Kerns has been installed as vp and executive producer for Cartoon Network Digital, a newly created position. In this new role Kerns will essentially be tasked with running CartoonNetwork.com, including the development of content for the site, which features a heavy dosage of full-length episodes of the network’ series along with 200-plus free games.

Kerns most recently filled a similar role for ABC’s Soapnet.com; officially he was director of digital media at ABC Daytime/SOAPnet. He’ll report directly to Paul Condolora, senior vp, digital for Turner Broadcasting’s animation, young adults & kids media group. “Kitric brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the digital space working with leading branded entertainment websites,” said Condolora.  “As we continue to develop our digital offerings on CartoonNetwork.com, Kitric will be a leader to maximize our audience through compelling content.”
