AnchorFree, a company which helps people surf the Internet in a more secure fashion, is planning to launch a content portal with the help of Web syndicator Mochila.
In May, Mochila announced it will begin packaging and distributing content from Investor's Business Daily to AnchorFree.
Now the two companies are expanding their relationship, as Mochila will supply AnchorFree technology-related content from IDG, including the publications PC World, Macworld and GamePro. AnchorFree’s new content portal will eventually feature multiple content channels typical of Web portals like Yahoo and MSN, including sections on travel, food, automotive and weather.
Launched in 2005, the Silicon Valley-based AnchorFree claims that over 7.5 million customers across the globe have signed on to access the AnchorFree Hotspot Shield, a free ad-supported product the company describes as a ‘virtual private network.’
Via the Hotspot Shield, AnchorFree promises that users can surf the Internet without leaving a trail of where they’ve been and without sharing any of their personal data with third parties.
