A Top Executive Leaves Meredith

Lauren Stanich oversaw More, now-defunct ReadyMade

The shakeup at Meredith Corp. this week also included the exit of Lauren Stanich, a senior vice president with oversight over More magazine and the now-defunct ReadyMade. Stanich joined the company in that role in 2008 after a long career at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, where she'd risen to become president of publishing.

Stanich’s oversight would have been reduced following Meredith’s decision June 16 to close ReadyMade, an indy DIY home magazine it bought in 2006. She also was seen as close to her former boss Andy Sareyan, who recently left as president of Meredith’s consumer brands. More, along with Fitness, will now report to Tom Harty, president of the magazine unit. Stanich was on vacation and couldn't be reached for comment.

In addition to folding ReadyMade, the company laid off about 75 people this week, mostly at the National Media Group that comprises its magazines, including Better Homes and Gardens and Family Circle.
