National Geographic Adventure Folds
National Geographic is folding its National Geographic Adventure spinoff, citing the weak environment for print advertising.
Launched 10 years ago, Nat Geo Adventure published eight times a year and had a circulation of 636,753. Its ad pages declined 25 percent to 346 this year, per the Mediaweek Monitor.
Prospective buyers had approached the company about the title, a company spokesperson said. “People came to us, but when we weren’t going to let go of the brand, it was a dead issue,” the rep said.
