Member of Parliament Apologizes to CNN's Morgan

Louise Mensch had accused TV host of phone hacking

Conservative MP Louise Mensch has apologized to CNN host Piers Morgan for accusing him of “boasting” about hacking phones while acting as editor of the Daily Mirror.

During last week’s Commons select committee hearing on the News Corp. hacking scandal, Mensch said that Morgan had been “very open about his personal use of phone hacking” in his memoir, The Insider.

The accusation led to a Twitter war between the two after Mensch stood by her claim but refused to repeat it outside of Parliament, where she could be accused of libel.
