Condé Nast has chosen architecture firm Gensler to design its new headquarters at 1 World Trade Center in New York. The firm will develop Condé’s 1 million square feet of space in preparation for the company’s move, which is expected to take place in 2015.

The publishing behemoth behind such iconic brands as Vogue, Vanity Fair, and GQ will relocate 5,000 of its employees from 4 Times Square and other offices in Midtown Manhattan to the downtown digs, helping pave the way for the transformation of an area marred by the 9/11 terrorist attacks as well as the recession.

Condé's lease agreement is estimated to be worth $2 billion over 25 years.
