Chicago Tribune Mag Ceasing Weekly Publication
The Chicago Tribune Magazine is ceasing as a weekly publication after July 28, as part of a series of changes to the Sunday paper.
In a note to readers, Tribune editor Gerould W. Kern said the magazine will “appear as a series of themed magazines throughout the year—roughly once a month beginning in September.”
Kern said declining advertising and high cost made weekly publication “unsustainable.”
Beginning with the July 5 editions, the Tribune is introducing a tabloid feature section called “Sunday” that will include some of the content that appeared weekly in the magazine, including puzzles and the “Sidewalks” column by writer Rick Kogan.
