Though the Dallas Cowboys long ago positioned themselves as “America’s team,” a new Harris Poll suggests the Pittsburgh Steelers can now make a stronger claim to that status. Adults who follow pro football were asked to name their two favorite National Football League teams. The Steelers were picked by 16 percent of respondents, putting them slightly ahead of the Cowboys (15 percent). The Indianapolis Colts (13 percent) and Green Bay Packers (11 percent) were the only other teams to score in double digits, though the New England Patriots and Chicago Bears just missed (9 percent).
