BOSTONInterpublic Group’s Weber Shandwick has elevated Stan Stein, executive vice president of the firm’s Detroit office, to global account director of its General Motors account, the agency said.

Stein, 52, joined Weber Shandwick’s Detroit office in 2004. He reports to agency president Andy Polansky in New York.

“Stan’s experience in the automotive industry is providing a heightened level of insight to Weber Shandwick clients seeking to enhance their image and reputation across diverse stakeholder groups and communications disciplines,” said Polansky, in a statement.
