The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion has launched a search for a public relations agency to support the anticipated February release of its revised Food Guide Pyramid.

The budget for the first year of the three-year contract is $1.6 million, according to the RFP.

The shop will explain the revised guide to the public through media relations; interactive executions will also figure heavily, according to the 30-page RFP. The target audience includes schools and food and nutrition experts.

About six agencies will give oral presentations at USDA headquarters this week.
