TeleCorp is talking with several agencies across the country about handling both media and creative chores for its $8-10 million account.
This represents the first advertising and branding efforts for the Arlington, Va.-based company, which specializes in personal communications systems, or PCS, including pagers, cellular telephones and other wireless devices.
Peter Belman, client director of brand management, said TeleCorp initially contacted 25-30 agencies. It has since narrowed the search to between five and seven shops from the New York tri-state area, New England, the Southeast, Southwest and Midwest.
Belman, a former marketing director for Sprint Spectrum, is spearheading the agency search and hopes to choose a shop by the end of February.
