Chances are they haven’t even tried the stuff, but Americans are developing a distaste for genetically modified (gm) foods. Europeans are notoriously averse to importing American-grown gm foods. Now, Americans show signs of importing the European aversion. A new Harris poll makes the point that Americans’ relative indifference to the controversy does not prevent them from holding negative opinions. So far, just 15 percent of Americans have read, seen or heard “a lot” about gm foods.
