A subsidiary of Fidelity Investments has tapped Mullen to promote its Insurance.com consumer site.
Insurance.com, Newton, Mass., was formed as an independent affiliate of the mutual funds giant in June 1999 and was launched last week.
The site enables consumers to compare quotes, shop for policies and store information about their insurance in secure online files. The site has partnered with content provider Forefield for industry information; and with Quotesmith.com, InsurQuote and HealthAxis for insurance quotes.
Mullen, Wenham, Mass., will break print and radio ads in April, sources said. The current tagline used on the Web site is, "Your life. Your plan."
Mullen executives would not discuss details of the upcoming campaign, and Insurance.com executives could not be reached for comment.
Creative for the spring campaign is in the early stages, according to a representative of Boston-based Brodeur Worldwide, which handles public relations for Insurance.com and has worked on other Fidelity-related projects.
Mullen last week also launched Greenpoints.com, an updated version of Sperry & Hutchinson Co.'s 104-year-old Green Stamps program. The Manchester, Mass., company's program awards consumers points for purchases at participating online and offline retailers. Greenpoints can be redeemed for prizes or donated to the United Way.
The site's launch was accompanied by the first phase of a national branding campaign developed by Mullen which features the tagline, "A more rewarding way to shop."
The campaign begins with a limited number of newspaper and trade ads. The consumer launch with radio and TV spots will kick off in the second quarter. Spending for the campaign was not disclosed. K
