NEW YORK Pepsi will debut two celebrity-laden spots for Diet Pepsi, as well as ads touting a promotion with iTunes on the Super Bowl this Sunday.
DDB in New York created two 30-second spots for the Purchase, N.Y.-based client. P. Diddy gets stranded on his way to a premiere and hitches a ride in "Diet Pepsi Truck." After arriving, he sparks a trend of riding in Diet Pepsi trucks, with Eve Longoria of Desperate Housewives, Wilmer Valderrama of That '70s Show and others all following suit. The 30-second "Guy Watcher" shows women ogling a man walking down a street drinking Diet Pepsi. Even Cindy Crawford stops and stares after him. Joe Pytka directed both ads.
TBWA\Chiat\Day in Playa del Rey, Calif., created a spot, in 30- and 45-second versions, showing songs coming out of Pepsi bottles, surprising all types of people as they open their soft drinks. Directed by Baker Smith, the ad notes that Pepsi will be giving away 200 million songs to consumers.
The 39th annual Super Bowl will air on Fox this Sunday evening.
