Jack Stahl has resigned as president and chief operating officer of the Coca-Cola Co.

The decision was due in large part to restructuring plans that didn’t include Stahl.

As part of CEO Douglas Daft’s initiative — “Think local. Act local.” — operations are being organized into units for America, Asia, Europe/Africa and new business ventures. Jeffrey Dunn is the Americas chief, A.R.C. “Sandy” Allen heads up Asia, Charles Frenette oversees Europe/Africa and a leader has yet to be named for new ventures.
