NEW YORK Reuters is testing a network that would allow nearly any size Web site to display its video news in an attempt to broaden the reach of its information content.

The Reuters Affiliate Network (labs.reuters.com) allows participating sites to install a video player that will carry up to 20 Reuter’s news stories. The player, free during the test phase, is available with pre-roll video ads. There is no minimum traffic requirement for participating sites.

Stephen Smyth, vice president of media at Reuters, said a fully launched affiliate network would include a mechanism for publishers to share in the ad revenue generated on their sites.
