Range Online Media Adds Clark

Range Online Media has hired Eric Clark as vice president of media.

Clark joins the Fort Worth, Tex-as, interactive marketing shop from RadioShack, where he was marketing communications manager for Internet media. He managed the Fort Worth-based retailer's strategic partnership with Microsoft as well as other online ventures.

Clark will be responsible for business development and forecasting trends in online marketing in his newly created post. He will also lead the eight-person shop's expansion of its online creative and media capabilities.

Using search engine keywords to draw visitors to an advertiser's site will remain a core competency, however. "We think the whole suite of a campaign is important, but we're still holding fast that everything should be user initiated," said Range president Cheryle Pingel.

Pingel and executive vice president Misty Locke decided to recruit Clark after Range picked up more of the interactive account of Wyndham International's resort division in September.

Clark said the pair's enthusiasm about the business and the shop's primary focus convinced him to switch to the agency side. "I know that search optimization is going to be very popular over the next 10 years and I wanted to be part of that," he said.
