Publicis Forms Healthcare Group

CHICAGO Publicis Groupe has formed a division to house the holding company's medical accounts.

Roger Haupt, president and chief operating officer of Paris-based Publicls, leads the Publicis Healthcare Group.

In North America, the group will consist of three brands. They are the Klemtner Group, headed by Gavin Scotti; the Medicus Group, run by Nick Colucci; and Nelson Communications, overseen by Fred Kellogg.

A separate global divison will be managed by Glenn DeSimone, who had been CEO of Medicus. That division will house Medicus' overseas opearations and Saatchi & Saatchi Healthcare.

Ed Rady, formerly president and chief strategic officer of the Medicus Group, will be executive vice president and chief strategy officer for Publicis Healthcare Group.

Frank Lanudo, executive vice president of corporate finance for Bcom3, the holding company Publicis bought last year, will be chief financial officer.

All of the executives report to Haupt.

Clients of Publicis Healthcare Group include GlaxoSmithKline, Novartis and Pfizer.
