CHICAGO Progressive Insurance has requested proposals from shops for a campaign to drive traffic to local agents, the company confirmed. Sources estimated ad spending on the project at $20-30 million.

The search does not change the status of independent Doner in Southfield, Mich., as the client’s lead agency, and Doner will be considered for the project, a Progressive representative said. Based in Mayfield Village, Ohio, Progressive spent $135 million overall on ads in 2002, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.
