Pier 1's Cargokids Chooses Loomis Agency

DALLAS Cargokids, a Pier 1 subsidiary, has awarded its ad account to The Loomis Agency, the client said. The account is estimated at $3 million.

Fort Worth, Texas-based Cargokids, which sells children's furniture and accessories, chose the Dallas-based agency following a review with undisclosed contenders. There was no incumbent.

The agency is charged with handling creative and media, as well as sales promotions.

Pier 1 acquired Cargokids in 2001. The company has nearly 40 stores in Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Maryland, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia.

Fort Worth-based Pier 1 spent $56 million on media last year, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus. Campbell-Ewald in Warren, Mich., handles its advertising.
