The Clio Awards (May 21-24) were celebrated in style at the South Beach Ritz Carlton in Miami this year, with two gala award shows at the Jackie Gleason Theater. About 700 attendees gathered for four days of talks, including Tham Kai Meng, regional executive creative director and co-chairman of Ogilvy & Mather Asia/PacificSingapore, who discussed Asian advertising, and Mark Tutssel, Leo Burnett Worldwide deputy chief creative director, who spoke on animation in advertising. At Leo Burnett’s post-party at Mansion on the 24th, festivalgoers buzzed about the big winners: Crispin Porter + Bogusky’s “Subservient Chicken” campaign and Wieden + Kennedy’s “Grrr” spot for Honda U.K.
