CHICAGO--Orbitz is talking to three Chicago agencies about the creative portion of its $30 million account, sources said.
The Chicago company shifted its business to Fusion Idea Lab here from TBWA\Chiat\Day in New York just less than a year ago.
Set to make presentations to the client are Leo Burnett, Element 79, and Young & Rubicam, sources said. Fusion chose not to participate in the competition, sources said.
A client representative could not be reached. Agency officials either could not be reached or declined comment.
Orbitz, which provides online travel search engine and booking service, is backed by five airlines: American, Continental, Delta, Northwest and United.
Media last February was assigned to Carat USA and is not affected by the creative review, sources said.
Orbitz spent about $15 million in 2001 but almost $30 million through October of last year, according to CMR. Sources said spending could increase under a new agency.
