Martin/Williams had survived previous management and ownership changes at Rubbermaid, but the recent ascension of former Black & Decker executives to the company’s top tier proved too much.

Newell Rubbermaid shifted its $10 million Rubbermaid account to McCann-Erickson in New York, which is Black & Decker’s lead agency.

Steve Collins, president of the Minneapolis agency, said the shop has kept the account through no less than three changes in top management. But a raft of executives brought in by former Black & Decker honcho Joe Galli, who took over as CEO at Freeport, Ill.-based
