BOSTON Interpublic Group’s Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos today said it is cutting approximately 3 percent of its staff.

“We are adjusting our staffing levels for the acquisition of Fleet by Bank of America,” the agency said in a brief statment.

A Hill, Holliday representative said about 20 employees were terminated, but declined to give specific numbers or name any staffers who were cut.

The agency employs about 350 people in Boston and close to 600 nationwide.

About half of the cuts were made yesterday with the rest coming on Friday, according to sources.
