After a year of reorganization talks at Euro RSCG that were at times awash in politics, Gary Epstein finds himself overseeing an agency network four times larger than the shop he had been running.

Euro RSCG’s new structure signals the end of the holding company’s loose grip on its personality-driven offspring, which have prided themselves on their individuality. The new reporting structure was subject to intense lobbying throughout the process, overseen by Euro RSCG CEO Bob Schmetterer, sources said.

By forming two $2 billion agencies—Euro RSCG MVBMS Partners and Euro RSCG Tatham Partners, each with a single profit-and-loss center—Euro RSCG is hoping its disparate shops will work together to build the agency’s bottom line.

As CEO of Euro RSCG Tatham Partners, Epstein will be in charge of Euro RSCG Tyee MCM in Portland, Ore.;
