In preparation for the children’s television upfront market, Burger King has moved its $40 million kids media account to Bcom3 Group’s MediaVest, New York, from Initiative Media.

MediaVest handles Burger King’s adult media buying, a spokeswoman for the No. 2 food chain said, declining to reveal ad spending. Competitive Media Reporting estimates peg Burger King ad spending at $385 million a year.

Burger King, based in Miami, had been planning to move its kids media account to MediaVest for several months but decided to act before the upfront TV ad buying season begins in the next few weeks.
