NEW YORK Atmosphere BBDO said it has hired a BBDO New York veteran to be its first executive creative director.
Michael Aimette, 37, joins Atmosphere BDDO after a decade at fellow Omnicom Group agency BBDO in New York, where he worked on AOL, FedEx, Snickers, Visa and other accounts. Prior to BBDO N.Y., Aimette was a freelance copywriter.
Aimette will report to Atmosphere BBDO CEO Andreas Combuechen, who said the growing profile of the Web is leading more traditional creative talent to move over to interactive.
"Now, the richness of the medium enables these guys to do all sorts of stuff," said Combuechen. "They can do what they do in TV, but in a much more rich way where people can engage."
Atmosphere BBDO does interactive work for clients like Cingular, Snickers and E*Trade. It produced the creative for AOL's online campaign to promote its new free Internet portal.
