American Chemistry Council Picks Ogilvy for Integrated Campaign

NEW YORK The American Chemistry Council, the Arlington, Va.-based trade association representing the U.S. chemical industry, has chosen Ogilvy & Mather, New York, to handle its estimated $50 million creative and public relations account.

The ACC wants Ogilvy to help craft an integrated communications campaign that will enhance the industry reputation, said a representative from ACC. Ogilvy was selected at the end of a three-month process, which began with 13 other agencies and was eventually pared down to Euro RSCG MVBMS Partners and Young & Rubicam, both New York. Bob Wolf Partners/TPG, Los Angeles, CEO and managing partner Dan Pearlman spearheaded the search.

Ogilvy's PR and interactive arms will play a prominent role in the work done for ACC, a source said.
