Startups Bring Total Billings of $12-15 Mil.
LOS ANGELES--Bozell has emerged the victor in reviews for five separate dot.com accounts. Combined spending for the new business totals $12-15 million in billings.
The agency's San Mateo, Calif., office has won ad duties for Bigstep.com, Aeneid.com and Adam.com, all in San Francisco; Showstar's Artstar.com in Vancouver, British Columbia; and Serome Technology's Dialpad.com in San Jose, Calif. The shop won all the accounts in informal reviews against undisclosed contenders over the past three months, according to senior vice president, general manager Kathryn Lewis. All the clients are startups with no incumbent agencies.
"[Dot.coms] are very a interesting clientele to us," said Lewis. "They [allow us to] combine our branding expertise with our tech know-how."
Bigstep.com offers "turnkey e-business solutions targeting the small-business community," according to Lewis. Examples of its services include free e-mail and Web site development hosting.
Aeneid.com's EoCenter product enables Internet information exchange and research capabilities in specific areas such as insurance, medicine and real estate.
Bozell is at work on an online and print campaign for Artstar.com, a Web site that supplies information on all aspects of art, including sales, appraisals, prints, posters and museum exhibitions. The agency may also create direct mail and broadcast ads for the client.
Adam.com is a medical content Web site. Dialpad.com supplies PC-to-phone or PC-to-PC long-distance communications services.
