ZenithOptimedia promoted two executives to take on the responsibilities of Dave Ehlers, who was elevated to president of Optimedia in September.

Neil Ascher, president Zenith GPE, has been named managing director and president, Diversified Services for ZenithOptimedia, North America, a new role at the media network. In addition, Sean Peters was promoted in his corporate development role, becoming an svp.

The moves come after Antony Young left Optimedia last summer to become North American CEO at WPP’s Mindshare unit. At that time, Ehlers, who had oversight of corporate development; Newcast, ZO’s brand entertainment division and ZO Multicultural, was named as Young’s successor.

As for assuming Ehlers’ duties, Ascher will oversee Newcast; ZO Multicultural and ZO Active, a barter trading alliance with Active. He will also continue to have oversight of Convergence, Zenith’s dedicated media unit for General Mills and The Program Exchange syndication unit.

Peters is responsible for the agency’s new business efforts, corporate development initiatives and public relations efforts.
