Target had a TV spot featuring crooner Larsen Thompson. Walmart has been running a flurry of deals, and Ikea got attention for its August catalog featuring computer-generated images. Other brands that made the monthly top 10 gainers list were Lipitor, which has been offering coupons to fend off competition from generics; and AT&T and Red Bull, which have been active in sports sponsorships.
