NEW YORK Interpublic Group's Wahlstrom has tapped Geoff Kehoe as president. He takes over duties from outgoing CEO Peter Broadbent at the Norwalk, Conn., shop that specializes in mobile, search, social networking and directory marketing. (The CEO title will not be used at this time.)

Most recently, Kehoe, 52, was global director of e-commerce marketing for Motorola. For now he will remain based in Chicago but also travel to oversee the shop's network of seven U.S. offices, a company rep said.

Kehoe reports to Nick Brien, CEO of Mediabrands, the IPG unit that manages the holding company's media-focused assets. "Geoff is the perfect leader to deliver change to a category with so much untapped growth potential in the interactive space," said Brien in a statement. "Geoff brings a solid combination of SEM expertise, entrepreneurial business sense and historic success launching brands in a dynamic marketplace."

Prior to Motorola, Kehoe worked for marketers including Amazon, American Express, Avis and Kodak. He also helped build direct, database and carrier co-op marketing programs for Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, and AT&T.

Kehoe began his career at JWT, working on blue-chip clients Sears and Hyatt. Additionally, Kehoe served as svp, group account director at Draftfcb, where he managed the Sprint PCS assignment. He also created a database marketing and analytics company called Econometrics.

Kehoe said: "Directory marketing is experiencing tremendous change as digital communications, such as mobile, social networks and phone apps, begin to play a more prominent role in stimulating consumer response at the store-level. I am excited to join Wahlstrom during this explosive chapter in its brand history and look forward to leveraging my entrepreneurial experience to bring local marketers closer to their consumers."
