Verizon Wireless has launched a series of mobile applications targeted at fitness- and health-conscious mobile users.

The telecom giant’s new Bones in Motion app is geared toward runners, walkers and bikers. By utilizing mapping and GPS capabilities in smartphones, the app enables users to chronicle and share their training regiments. Also in the workout realm is a new app dubbed Burn Meter, which lists 40 different exercises.

Additionally, Verizon Wireless, Basking Ridge, N.J., has introduced several apps aimed at weight-conscious consumers.
