Do you suppose pimply-faced teenage loners feel offended by the steady stream of reports insisting they’re not the only ones playing video games these days? The latest such study, issued last month, comes from Ipsos MediaCT, which fielded a survey this past June on behalf of IGN Entertainment. Conducted online among 12-54-year-olds, it found that 55 percent of gamers are married, and 48 percent have kids. Among those who started gaming within the past two years, the average age is 32.
