Eight months after its last chief marketing officer left under mysterious circumstances, Progressive Insurance has filled the position with Jeff Charney, the former CMO of Aflac.

Aflac, meanwhile, named company veteran Michael Zuna to lead the company’s marketing.

Charney (pictured), who joined Aflac in December 2008, will “transition to the CMO role at Progressive in the near future,” according to a statement from Progressive.

Charney replaces Larry Bloomenkranz, who left in February at Progressive CEO and president Glenn Renwick’s request.
