Capital One Bank has expanded its relationship with MDC Partners' Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners, awarding the agency advertising chores.
New York-based KBS+P, through its Company C specialized marketing unit has handled direct for Capital One Credit Cards since 2004, and digital duties since 2006.
Last year, Capital One Bank spent $27 million in measured media, per Nielsen. Through September of this year, it spent $28 million. KBS+P will handle print, out-of-home, radio, digital and nontraditional marketing. It could not immediately be determined if there was an incumbent of if the work was handled in-house.
Former McCann Erickson New York president Lori Senecal became CEO at KBS+P in August -- and the agency's name was changed at that time to reflect her arrival. McCann worked for Capital One in 2003-04, but Senecal had no involvement with the account, the agency said.
"We are delighted to expand our relationship and tap into a broader range of services with Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal + Partners," said Marc Mentry, managing vp, brand marketing, Capital One, in a statement.
Senecal added: "Capital One transformed the credit card industry through brand leadership and innovation. We are delighted to support them as they extend that spirit of leadership to consumer and commercial banking."
