Founded in 1998 as a regional agency called Wolfmotell, Modern Climate changed its name in 2009 to appeal to bigger clients and talent. Since then, it’s carved out a niche in mobile that earns the 40-person agency about a quarter of its revenue. That includes work for Intel, like a mobile game of digital shuffleboard that helps consumers pick the right specs for their computers. For 3M, Modern Climate recreated the Post-it as a smartphone app. Other big-league clients include United Healthcare, Jamba Juice, Target, Firestone and the agency’s newest win, digital customer acquisition work for Disney.
