NEW YORK Google said it has signed a deal to display its advertiser listings on VNU Business Media's Web sites in the United States and Europe.
The deal expands the reach of Google's AdSense for Content advertising program to include more business-to-business publications with the addition of VNU's stable of more than 50 magazine Web sites, including NationalJeweler.com, ProgressiveGrocer.com and BeverageWorld.com. VNU is also the publisher of Adweek.
"The more niche a content provider is, the greater the relevancy," said David Hirsch, director of Google's b-to-b vertical markets group. "It gives the marketer another great opportunity to target at a different stage" of the buying cycle.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hirsch said Google is expanding its advertiser base to include businesses that typically do not advertise online, such as those selling high-consideration industrial goods or business services. Google also has paid listings deals with business publishers Reed Business, Hanley Wood and Ziff Davis Media.
The Mountain View, Calif., search giant competes for advertisers with specialized business search engines like Business.com and ThomasB2B.com.
