Two 30-second TV spots highlight a special head protection system, standard on all of BMW’s 1999 sedans, which protects the driver’s head during side-impact collisions. The first spot, “Statistics,” informs the viewer that “33 percent of accidents are side-impact collisions; 50 percent of severe side-impact collisions result in injuries; 43 percent of these injuries are to the head.”
