Benett Is New Havas Worldwide President

Robert LePlae takes over as Arnold global chief

Andrew Benett, the global CEO of Arnold Worldwide for the last three years, is moving into the new role of global president at Havas Worldwide. The change is seen as making him a potential successor to David Jones, global CEO of the Havas Worldwide network.

Benett has been with Havas for nearly a decade and before his role at Arnold, an operating unit of Paris-based communications company Havas. He was global chief strategy officer for Euro RSCG Worldwide and CEO of Euro RSCG N.Y. (Last fall, the company's advertising network Euro RSCG was renamed Havas Worldwide.) Benett retains his chief strategy officer role at Havas Creative Group.

Robert LePlae, who joined Arnold as global president in August, now becomes the agency’s global chief executive. LePlae was previously North American president at McCann Worldgroup and spent 11 years at TBWA, including five years as CEO of TBWA\Chiat\Day L.A before becoming president of TBWA North America.

In a statement, Havas chief Jones explained the changes:

“The momentum at Havas is very strong at the moment, following the successful rebranding of Euro RSCG to Havas Worldwide, the unique co-location of all our media, creative and digital teams into one building in Paris and in New York, and a great fourth quarter of new business wins and digital growth. These senior management moves represent another important step in delivering our strategic plan.”
