AKQA has hired Jason McCann as a creative director for its New York office, the location's third such addition this year.
McCann joins AKQA from TAXI Toronto, where he served as an executive creative director. McCann will report to chief creative officer Rei Inamoto, who oversees work at the agency's New York, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, and Shanghai shops. McCann is one of three creative directors at the growing SoHo office, which added Jim Wood, also previously a high-level creative at TAXI, in April, and Lynn Teo, who doubles as director of user experience and joined from SapientNitro in January. AKQA New York's clients include Kraft.
McCann, who spent some eight years at TAXI, has worked on brands including Canadian telecoms company TELUS, BMW's MINI Canada, and New York Life.
