Writer's Guild of America to Honor 'New Media' Entertainment Efforts
For the first time in its history, the Writer’s Guild of America will honor “new media” writing at its annual award show next month. According to the press release, the group is defining a new media platform as “the Internet (via a major video sharing site or unique URL), mobile devices such as cell phones or PDAs, or any other established new media platform.”
The WGA announced the nominees in two new categories today: “Outstanding Achievement in Writing Original New Media;” and “Outstanding Achievement in Writing Derivative New Media.”
