WNBC/Channel 4 was scheduled to debut its new studio and new look this month. It was joining many other stations in recent months that created new sets, or even brand new studios.

But plans are apparently being delayed.

Newscaststudio.com reports WNBC tore down the setĀ in studio 3C— the station’s new 30 Rock digs–and is starting from scratch.

The website says theĀ studio is now a “blank box” and it will take several months before it’s operational.

Senior management yanked the design, according to newscaststudio.com, in part, because of its similarity look to WABC/Channel 7’s new studio. Everything was demolished, from the desk to the technology to the walls.

However, one source tells FishbowlNY that the 3C set in no way looks like WABC’s.

FishbowlNY has been unable to get confirmation from the station spokesperson.
