The Washington Post collected the salaries of 100 Washingtonians to commemorate Labor Day. On the list are a variety of professions, from garbage collector to panhandler to Abraham Lincoln impersonator, but what we really want to know: How much do DC’s media folk make?
Scott Simon, whose voice is familiar to NPR listeners everywhere, takes home just over $300k.
Don Graham, president and CEO of The Washington Post Company, earns $811,960, and an intern at the Post, James Hohmann, earns $44,167.50.
Zack Rosen, editor-in-chief of The New Gay, takes home $36,000.
A writer for National Archives’ Prologue magazine, Rob Crotty, earns $57,000.
Obama’s speechwriter Jon Favreau takes home $172,000.
Happy Labor Day!
