Trouble At Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is facing what could be the third round of layoffs since 2007. Journal Sentinel negotiators told the local guild that it was seeking $1.2 million in payroll deductions from the guild-covered employees, which the union infers will be achieved via layoffs, the Milwaukee Business Journal reported.

The guild estimates that 16 to 18 additional full-time equivalent positions would be eliminated among its membership, which would be a cut of 8 percent, Pearson said.
