Weekly New Republic offering kicks off with thoughts on 13 Hours and the Oscars.
Grierson & Leitch sounds like the name of one of those slick law firms at the center of a pulsing John Grisham movie adaptation. But it is in fact a New Republic weekly podcast, launched today.
In the first episode, film critics Tim Grierson and Will Leitch, previously with Deadspin and Yahoo, discuss the Michael Bay action film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi and the 2016 Oscar nominations. One point of disagreement with the Academy involves Trumbo, which garnered a Best Actor nomination for Bryan Cranston:
Leitch: That movie is friggin’ terrible.
