The New York Times Promotes Tom Bodkin to Deputy Managing Editor
The New York Times has promoted Tom Bodkin to Deputy Managing Editor. Bodkin, who joined the Times in 1980 as an Art Director for the Home section, was most recently its Design Director. He was named an Assistant Managing Editor in 2000.
“Tom Bodkin plays an essential role as our art and design guru and is one of my most valued and trusted masthead advisers,” said Jill Abramson in memo announcing the change. “He is central to all of our future efforts in digital and print and to the integration of our work.”
