The Myth Of Career Jobs...Busted

Here’s an interesting factoid: We’re told that recent changes in the economy have caused job security to disappear and that the days of working at the same company for your whole life are over. (No more gold watches, in other words.)

According to new research (PDF format) from EBRI, the Employee Benefit Research Institute, this change ain’t so recent.

The median tenure for workers age 20 or over at their current jobs was 5.1 years in 2008.
